Many leadership competency models we’ve worked with were big and comprehensive – “everything there is to know.” They then are crushed by their own weight and are of very little value to the company’s talent strategy, getting little adoption.  We focused on a few core characteristics  in our model – what we think truly differentiates good from “great” leaders we have known.  This more nimble framework is easier to integrate into your talent management practices.  Hiring, on-boarding, development, promotion, performance management, coaching – can all be done based on the common leadership vocabulary outlined by this model.
